There isn't much to this battle. As soon as the cutscene ends, the portal will appear and steam creatures will emerge. Keep fighting them until they and General Shodd are defeated. The mysterious stranger, who is basically your doppelganger, will attack. Defeat the double, and the problems with the infinity ball are over.
Zojja is in the northeast corner of the map. Talk to her to start the next phase, which is to destroy the incinerator golem, to your southwest. The incinerator golem can spin around spraying fire out of its arms. Then talk to Zojja about what is happening. She wants you to choose your next mission.

Some of the inquest obviously have the engineer template, however the obviously-magical asuran style turrets they use are not available to player characters. Either way, one must conclude that
Shendrea - Revenant sounded dark, so I went with the name that sounds like shade. Illiez - A human female Necromancer. Just a pun with Ill and Eliz(abeth). Eran Diretail - Eran just sounded cool as a Charr. Then proceeded with a last name that sounded nice with tail. Pollipop - My nickname irl+Lollipops. A cute Asura that smashes everything as
Zojja. Zojja is an Asuran Elementalist and Golemancer, and she's also a former apprentice of Snaff. Zojja remains devoted to his memory and ideals. She followed Snaff into Destiny's Edge Whereas before, rather sensibly, you were standing in front of the gate at the other end. This change takes you someplace you weren't expecting based on past experience, makes no sense, breaks immersion and makes screwing up cost you significantly more time.
