2: use only the key fob, no other keys on ring, for the test. 3: use the 2nd fob same way , now. with other key far away. 4: make sure battery voltage is 12.6vdc, 10.7v the IMMO goes belly up. (any $10 voltmeter , works) 5: have only 1 fob (transponder-key) near the ignition. 6: do not have other keys near Ignition switch. even just plain keys.

If the battery is tricky to remove, use a flathead screwdriver to insert beside the battery to pop it out. Once you have the old battery out, you can replace it with a new one. 3. Changing the keyfob battery. Hi folks. I've got a 2013 Kia pro ceed and I had a message come up on the dashboard telling me that my keyfob battery needed changing, could someone tell me how to do this please as my local Kia dealer was no help what so ever, they in fact told me to go to any local garage and ask them to prise it open. I have the push-button start with the smart key on my 2016 and if I have a problem with mine, there is no slot in the glove box like on the G1 version, but you can start the engine by pressing the engine start/stop button with the smart key (the side with the lock button) at a right angle. a three times Kia owner.
